In 2008 Jackpot had an unbelievable show season for a
yearling. He was never beaten in his class and at every show he won
a Championship of some kind. He topped the season off brilliantly by
winning the Youngstock Championship and the Overall M+M Championship
at the NPS Scotland Finals at Blair Castle.

few mares in 2009 so was shown less. During his few
outings he was Fell Champion at NPS Scotland, Great Yorkshire and
the Royal Show, where he went one better and claimed the Supreme
M&M Championship. He then went on to stand Fell Champion
at tha NPS Summer Champs at Malvern and was awarded the Shalbourne
Cup for the best M&M Stallion. He again finished the season in
style by reclaiming the Youngstock and Overall M&M Champion
titles at the NPS Scotland Finals at Blair Castle.

Jackpot started his 2011 show season very well. He
was first in his class and Supreme Champion at the FPS Stallion Show
in May. He has continued to do well throughout the season.

Castlehill Jerry FP50855C Dam - Townend Sugar FP2897
Tam was bought from his breeder Glenis Cockbain in 2003 as a
yearling, with a view to keeping him as a stallion. As we had hoped
he has gone on to make the grade. He has matured into a lovely pony
with an exceptional temperament, and is now leaving some nice
youngstock on the ground.
Tam was shown successfully as a yearling with Glenis, culminating
in winning the FPS yearling points award.
He had fewer outings as a 2 year old, they included 1st in the
2yo class and Reserve Youngstock Champion at the FPS Stallion Show
and Champion Fell/Dales and Reserve Overall Mountain and Moorland
Champion at the Border Union Show.

In 2005 as a 3y/o, his first outing was to the FPS Stallion
Show where he was Supreme Champion. He also went on to win Reserve
Mountain and Moorland at the Royal Highland Show and was 1st in the
3yo class at the Royal Show.
2006 was a very successful year for Tam, he had four outings and
collected four championships, including the Supreme Championship at
the FPS Stallion Show for the second year in a row.
In 2007, as well as all his usual stud duties Tam made a
start to his ridden work, attending a few shows to learn the ropes.
He was shown twice inhand, and in May, he collected the Supreme
Championship at the FPS Stallion Show for the third consecutive
year.

2008 saw Tam concentrate more on his ridden work. Ridden and
schooled at home by Jill Cousens then partnered at shows by Chris
MacMillan he had a very successful first season, topped of nicely by
winning the Open Ridden Championship at the NPS Scotland Finals held
at Blair Castle.

In 2009 Tam continued to progress in his ridden
work and had a succesful season, including winning
the Fell section of the NFU Open Ridden Championship at NPS Summer
Championship Show, Malvern. At the same show in his first evening
performace, he seemed to love the lights and the atmosphere in
the main arena where he was Reserve Champion in the Brithish Isles
Supreme Ridden Final.

In 2010
Tam qualified for both HOYS and Olympia at his first attempt, as
well as being Overall Ridden Champion at the NPS Scotland summer
show for the second year in succesion.
Although
still only nine years old he has been tremendously
successful both inhand and under saddle, representing the breed at
the countries major ridden finals. He continues to
breed consistantly well, with his youngstock winning
many championships at major shows throughout the
country and above all else, he has an outstanding
temperament and is an absolute pleasure to work with.
After much
deliberation throughout the early part of this year we have decided
to retire Tam from the showring. We are very proud of what he has
achieved over the years and feel that he has bowed out at
the top with a record which rates amoungst the very best the
breed has seen.
We hope
Tam will still have a huge part to play on the breeding side of
things and will continue to produce quality stock. He will be used
at home as a riding pony and might even manage out to some fun
events in the future.
